Project :: Bank of Thailand Nationwide Integrated Facility Security System

AES Group was originally awarded the first contract in 2002, to install an electric fence system around the perimeter of the facility and additional CCTV equipment at the Bank of Thailand Mint in Bangkok. The electric fence was integrated with the CCTV system to display any intruders that are detected trying to penetrate the electric fence perimeter. Security equipment included Gallagher Trophy Electric Fence System and Kalatel CCTV Equipment.

Based on our excellent performance on this first project, Bank of Thailand has chosen AES to be their preferred supplier. In 2003 AES was awarded additional security projects for the installation of Cardax security systems for the BOT Note Issuing plant, new Ink Plant and Note Issuing Center in Bangkok. These systems were integrated with the BOT Kalatel Digital CCTV system. BOT has now standardized on Cardax Security Access systems for all of their sites. In 2004 AES has been awarded additional contracts to install integrated security access systems in a total of 10 provinces for the Bank of Thailand.

Project :: Royal Thai Police Mobile X-ray System

AES Group partnered with Yip In Tsoi was awarded the contract to provide four Z-Backscatter Van (ZBV), mobile X-ray inspections systems to the Royal Thai Police Narcotics department used for the inspection of vehicles for narcotics and weapons. The ZBV’s are manufactured by American Science and Engineering located in the United States. Engineering services include maintenance support and training. AES Group spearheaded the marketing efforts in the capture of this project and is providing program management and maintenance support for this and future x-rays projects in Thailand. Trucks were delivered and accepted by the RTP in October 2004. The value of the contract was 183 million Baht.

Access Control and Security Systems

Since 1992 AES has been designing commercial access control and integrated Security Systems as a consulting arm of YIT. Beginning in 2000, AES has assumed the role of Marketing & Project Management for this product line. In 2002 the Master Distributorship and all responsibilities for the marketing and support of the product line was transferred to AES.

The original product line was established when YIT became the Thailand Master Distributor for CARDAX, one of the key industry suppliers for the Asia-Pacific region. CARDAX supplies medium to very large access control systems, with customers such as factories, office buildings, public utilities, transportation systems, banks, oil companies, and universities around the world.

To augment the product line and provide entry level as well as large system products, AES has added SmartSight, Sanyo, Kalatel, and Gallagher Systems products to the systems portfolio. SmartSight is positioning themselves as a world leader in the supply of LAN Based CCTV surveillance systems. Sanyo and Kalatel provide world class CCTV cameras and systems. Gallagher is the world leader in power fencing which is used in perimeter control applications providing both a warning & a deterrent which is an advantage over conventional fencing with various sensor systems.

Security System references in Thailand include Bank of Thailand, Siemens, Krung Thai Bank, STT-Nation, Nike, Coca Cola, 7-11, Heineken, Hutchinson Cat Multimedia Data Centers, Royal Thai Air Force, Hoechst and the Security Exchanger Commission of Thailand.

Project :: Sri Lanka Fast Patrol Boat Project 

In August 2001 AES was contracted by Australian Submarine Corporation to provide consulting Services for the system design, integration and support of the Communications, Navigation and Fire Control Systems for their proposal efforts in bidding for twelve 28 meter Naval Fast Patrol Boats. Contract award to build the ships is expected in 3rd quarter 2004.

Project :: Royal Thai Air Force F-5 Radar Upgrade

AES has been marketing and supporting the upgrade of the RTAF AN/APQ-159 V(5) upgrade of their F-5 aircraft since 1995. This equipment, manufactured by Systems Electronics, Inc. in the US, is being used by the Royal Thai Air Force to upgrade their aging AN/APQ-159-3,-4 and AN/APQ-153 fire control radar systems used on F-5 aircraft with the newer (V)-5 version for increased supportability, reliability and performance. AES is the exclusive representative of this equipment in Thailand. Total sales since 1997, have totaled over 7 million USD.

Project :: Hutchison Cat Multimedia Data Center Security Project

Awarded contract in 2002, to install an integrated security system at the Hutchison Data Centers located at IFCT and CAT headquarter in Bangkok. Security equipment included CardaxFT security access system and SmartSight LAN based CCTV.

Follow-on contracts have been awarded for the design, installation and support of integrated security access systems for the BOT Mint, New Mint Ink Plant and Note Issuing Division.

Project :: Royal Thai Police Mai Sai Border Digital CCTV Project

Awarded contract in 2002 to install a SmartSight LAN-based digital CCTV system for the RTP Mai Sai Border Post. System provides real-time vide security and PC based storage of surveillance activity at the border post and remote access of the video information by the RTP headquarters in Bangkok.

Project :: Royal Thai Navy Offshore Patrol Vessel Project

AES was contracted by Australian Submarine Corp. to provide consulting services for the equipment selection, design, integration, and supplier qualification for the Communication, Navigation and Weapon Systems OPV tender. Services commenced late 2000 and contract was awarded to China Shipyards in November 2002.

Project :: Expressway and Transit Authority Rama IX Bridge

AES was awarded an initial contract valued at 5 million Baht in December 1993, for the Rama IX Bridge Real-Time Seismic/Structural Monitoring Project. In July 2000, a follow-on project was awarded to AES valued at 27 Million Baht for the inspection, structural analysis and upgrade of the real-time monitoring system on the Rama IX Bridge. AES responsibilities included project management, installation and maintenance support. AES subcontracted Kinemetrics and OPAC in the US for bridge engineering services, system design and support. AES continues to provide yearly service contracts for the structural monitoring system. AES has also been awarded a contract by the ETA to analyze the data from the Rama IX bridge structural monitoring system to assist in the monitoring of the health of the bridge. Sales to the ETA to date total over 40 million Baht.

Projects :: Seismic and Structural Monitoring Equipment Sales and Support

AES Group has been awarded contracts to provide Kinemetrics seismic monitoring equipment to the Royal Irrigation and Electric Generating Authority. These organizations have an extensive network of Kinemetrics equipment to the monitoring of seismic activity around their dams in Thailand.

Project :: Hong Kong Police Patrol Boat Project

Starting in 1999, AES teamed with Australian Submarine Corp. and Cheoy Lee Shipyards in Hong Kong. AES was responsible for the Communication and Navigation Systems design, integration, and support for the HKPL Patrol Boats. Cheoy Lee was awarded a contract in June 2000 to build an initial quantity of two ships. AES provided installation services for the internal communication system. Contract for anther 2 ships was signed between Cheoy Lee and the Hong Kong police in December 2002 and an order for an additional 2 ships is expected in August 2003.

Project :: Royal Thai Navy 30m Patrol Craft Communications System

This project valued at $869,000 USD was awarded to AES Group in February, 1998 and was completed in the year 2000. AES was contracted to provide a full turnkey integrated communication system for three 30 meter patrol boats, built in Thailand by Australian Submarine Corp. for the Royal Thai Navy. The external communication system equipment included VLF, HF, VHF Tactical, VHF Maritime, and UHF radios and an IFF transponder. The internal communication system manufactured by United Marine Corp., in Canada, included public address, general alarm, talk back and marine PABX equipment.

AES responsibilities included project management, system design, installation, commissioning and follow on maintenance support.

Project :: Peninsula Plaza Helicopter Pad Structural Evaluation

AES was awarded this contract in February, 1997 to help Phillip Holzmann and Meinhardt to evaluate the structural integrity of the helicopter landing pad at the Peninsula Plaza Hotel in Bangkok. AES subcontracted Agbabian Associates for technical support of this project. Very accurate cable displacement sensors were used in conjunction with a data acquisition system to measure the displacement of the helicopter land pad’s supporting members under load. This was data was used to evaluate the structural integrity of the supporting members under load.

Collaboration with Other Companies

AES Group regularly collaborates with other companies in many fields. Throughout the life of the company, AES Group has exploited the ability to form relationships with technology suppliers as a means of responding to project requirements. Operating as representative, distributor, and value added supplier; AES Group has formed relationships with such companies as Agbabian Associates, United Marine, Australian Submarine Corporation, and Mark VII Equipment Inc.

The partnership with Yip In Tsoi provides access to a large network of technology companies both in Thailand and internationally which allows AES to operate in an environment available only to much larger companies. Further benefit comes from being able to draw on the Yip In Tsoi staff of 350 employees, more than half of whom are from the engineering and technical fields of software development, network design, systems engineering, and communications systems installation and support.
